HIXSON, TN (WRCB) -

An early morning fire brought out firefighters from Dallas Bay and Red Bank.

No one was apparently home during the 7:15 a.m. fire a Hixson duplex. Dallas Bay firefighters responded to the scene and called the Red Bank Fire Department for help battling the fire.

Neighbors said a man and his 9-year-old son live at the home. Hamilton County EMS Chief Ken Wilkerson told Channel 3 the two were not at home and have since been accounted for.

Damage inside the home is estimated to be about $20,000. The fire did not spread to other end of duplex.

Hamilton County EMS and the Sheriff's Department were also on the scene as a precaution.
