Couple feeds homeless in Chattanooga

Posted: Updated:

One local couple wants to make a difference in Chattanooga - serving one meal at a time to people in need.

Kenny Finlayson and his wife stayed up all night preparing meals they served Saturday in the empty field located on MLK Blvd and University Drive.

They also brought tables and chairs volunteers helped set up.

Over 100 hot lunches were served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., something this couple plans to do every month.

"Hopefully we help people that really need a meal.  Those maybe under a bridge or a tent.  Our heart goes out to them," says Finlayson.

Kenny and his wife say they plan to cook and serve the homeless the second Saturday of every month in the same location - the field next door to Champys on MLK Blvd.
