Dry, pleasant Friday

Posted: Updated:

Good Friday! High pressure and drier air have temporarily moved into the Tennessee Valley. We'll see plenty of sunshine through the weekend, along with a few clouds and highs in the upper 80's.

Humidity levels will be a little lower on Friday compared to the previous few days, but it'll increase Saturday and Sunday. We may see some isolated to widely scattered showers or storms develop each day this weekend, primarily in the high elevations of the Blue Ridge and Cumberland Plateau. These showers/storms will not be widespread or last all day.

Next week will start off with partly cloudy skies. Typical July heat and humidity come back with highs in the low 90's, lows in the lower 70s.  Heat index values will be in the mid to upper 90's so please be careful outdoors.  By Tuesday of next week isolated to scattered showers and storms will re-develop in the afternoon and evenings, fading late night.

At this time the only Flood Warning in the region is for Coahulla Creek near Keiths Mill Road in the Dalton, GA area. Until further notice minor flooding will continue.
