Waffles and Rice need some cleaning, but Gutherie's at the top

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Dining out this weekend?

The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a great week reporting no  failing grades among the more than 20 restaurants inspected. However before you head on over to two of the places to eat, it's best to check out their low scores of week which is a tie at 78. Remember a failing grade is any score lower than a 70.

We will start with the Waffle House on Lee Highway. According to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon, there was spoiled produce, ham at the wrong temperature, the toaster need a good cleaning and the hand-washing sink was not accessible.

The next place with score of 78 goes to Rice Boxx restaurant on Hixson Pike. The cook was not washing hands, seafood not properly being thawed out, the can opener was rusty, mold in icebox and unlabeled chemicals in the kitchen.

The high score of the week is high atop Signal Mountain at Guthrie's with a 98. Congratulations to the employees there for their hard work.

Remember any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place you work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department  Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or feel free to email me and I'll pass your comments along.

Enjoy your meal!
