Erlanger officials warn of fundraising call scam

Posted: Updated:

Erlanger is warning people of a scam call that's going around.

Officials with T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital at Erlanger and local Children's Miracle Network representatives say there have been reports of calls where the caller claims they are fundraising for Children's Miracle Network or CMN Hospitals on behalf of Children's Hospital.

Officials say this is a scam and any residents who receive a call should contact the hospital's Development Office at 778-7309.

"It has come to our attention this is a fraudulent call," said Rebecca Brinkley, Children's Hospital Foundation CMN Coordinator.  "Our development office is not conducting a phone-a-thon campaign and the national office of CMN Hospitals does not make these types of calls.  Our hope is to spread the word about this so no one is scammed by these calls."
