Catoosa Co. introduces emergency alert system

Posted: Updated:
CATOOSA COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -

Catoosa County announced the new Catoosa County Citizens Alerting System Monday, a system for citizens to get alerts during emergencies.

The system allows citizens to register multiple contact paths including text messaging, TTY, mobile phones and landline phones for emergency notifications, severe weather alerts, and community notifications.

The CCCAS will use Everbridge mass notification system to enhance communication during natural or manmade disasters.

Everbridge was recently used to communicate for the Boston Police, Watertown Police and Waltham Police departments during the Boston Marathon Bombing and subsequent manhunt.
