Thursday's ceremony was powerful to see all the volunteers, family and friends that came out to support Andrew and Tori Smith. Among
those that came out, was Austin Whitten. Whitten is next in line to
receive a few upgrades that will make the transition from the car to his
home a little easier.
"Steps 2 Hope" is gearing up to help Austin Whitten who was paralyzed last summer in a swimming accident.
"He did a belly flop and hit the water breaking C6 and C7," said Mark Wilson, Steps 2 Hope.
Friends, family and community members will focus on building Austin a carport attached to his home.

A fundraising event will be planned around September. Steps 2 Hope's goal is to complete "Team Austin" by the end of 2013
