UPDATE: Soggy Fourth? Some ways to celebrate and stay dry
So, it looks like we'll be celebrating a soggy Fourth of July.
What can you do? Rain means no fireworks and no cookout, but it doesn't mean you can't have some fun.

Here's a list of events that are open rain or shine. Not all of them are themed for Independence Day, but if you want to brave the rain and explore the Tennessee Valley, the holiday could be a fun day.
If you're rather stay inside, you can watch Channel 3 tonight at 8pm for The 37th annual "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.
We've chosen indoor events for the list below, since they are less likely to be rained out! It's always a good idea to call ahead and make sure your chosen event is still on schedule.
Creative Discovery Museum - Red, White And Blue Day - 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Guests can create July 4th-inspired crafts. At 2 p.m., guests will gather with noise makers to parade around the Museum with Uncle Sam. After the reading of the Declaration of Independence by "Uncle Sam," guest will gather in front of the Museum to honor our local military men and women and watch the exciting 21- Diet Coke and Mentos geyser salute.

Tennessee Aquarium - 10:00am - 6:00pm - One of the signatures of downtown Chattanooga, the Tennessee Aquarium offers a wide variety of special events each month. Special group discounts for 10 or more adults, savings $2.50 each adult ticket purchased. Tickets can purchased at the Aquarium, online or via telephone. Groups of less than 10 can purchase tickets online and print them before arriving, saving time in the ticket line. $24.95 Adults, $14.95 Children

Ruby Falls - 8:00 am – 8:00 pm - Since Ruby Falls is underground, there's little chance of getting rained upon. But the same rain you're hoping to avoid makes Ruby Falls even more spectacular. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring a jacket, since it's always 58 degrees inside. Tickets are $17.95 adults, children $9.95.
