Chattanooga police officer on leave after shooing incident

A Chattanooga man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to run an officer over with his vehicle. 

The officer fired shots in self defense, and is now on administrative leave.

The incident happened early Saturday morning, in the 100 block of Elmwood Drive.
The suspect, 24-year old Lebron Brown was struck in the arm before fleeing the scene.

Brown later arrived at the hospital for treatment, where he was arrested and charged with attempted 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Officer Rogers was not injured during the incident which is now under investigation by the Internal Affairs and Major Crimes Divisions.
