ETOWAH, TN (WRCB) -

A Polk County man faces attempted murder charges after a shooting in Etowah.

Officers say they found William Donally on 5th Street lying on the ground with a gunshot wound Sunday.

Donally told officers Randall "Caid" Webb shot him.

Webb called Polk County investigators and told them he shot someone as officers were en route to arrest him. While taking him into custody, they found a gun in his pocket.

He was turned over to Etowah Police. He told police he drover by the victim's house looking for his ex-girlfriend. He left the residence and was driving on 5th Street when the car behind him started tailgating him.

Webb pulled over near Pennsylvania Avenue. He says Donally approached the vehicle and kicked him through the window. Webb says he then pulled out his gun and shot Donally. He says he left the scene and went home.

Webb was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder.
