Have some rain gear handy! More showers and storms on tap for the Tennessee Valley.

With plenty of warmth and humidity with us this Monday expect occasional showers and storms to stick around the Channel 3 viewing area. The showers and cloud cover will keep temperatures from rising too high, mainly around the middle 80s in Chattanooga. A few showers may stick around this evening with better chances late tonight with lows in the upper 60s.

Tuesday's rain chances go even higher as a cold front slides through the region. Highs again will be kept in check in the middle 80s. Severe weather is unlikely but some storms may produce very heavy downpours. Showers and storms begin fading Tuesday night. Total rainfall through Tuesday night could total 2-3" in some spots. Be careful of possible localized flash flooding.

Wednesday and Thursday feature mainly dry and less humid conditions with warmer summer-like highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Spotty showers and storms are expected to come back late in the work week into next weekend. Most of them will be in the afternoon and early evening hours.
