Good Wednesday. If you thought it was hot and humid yesterday...
Look for highs to exceed the normal high of 87 with no effort. Highs will actually climb into the low to mid 90s. I am forecasting 95 for Chattanooga. With dew point values in the mid 60s, it will feel like at least 100 degrees during the heat of the day. Make sure you stay hydrated as you head to Riverbend this evening.
One bad thing about all the heat and humidity (other than how ridiculously uncomfortable it is) is it provides tons of fuel for any storms that develop as a result of a front passing through. Thursday will bring such a front.
Thursday afternoon, a front will pass through, and bring a good chance of thunderstorms to the area through drive time. There is a slight risk some of those storms could become severe so be watchful.
Behind the front, we will have some cooler and drier air settling in for a few days. Lows will drop into the mid 60s and highs will drop into the mid to upper 80s Friday and Saturday. Humidity will also be a little lower. With the combination of slightly cooler and a little drier, it should feel much nicer as we head into the weekend.
Sunday, look for a high of 90 with clouds increasing through the day.
Another front will move in Monday, and may pull an "unwanted relative", sticking around for a few days. The result would be showers and storms popping up Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.
