Hundreds shave heads for childhood cancer

Posted: Updated:

More than a hundred people are walking around Chattanooga with a new bald  haircut.

The "Chattanoggins" movement was started by a little boy aimed at raising money for kids with cancer.

Jack Skowonnek began shaving his head and getting sponsors to donate money for local cancer treatment.

He says he also wants kids battling cancer to feel less embarrassed about losing their hair.

He's been doing it for several years. Those involved say they will sport the new cut for a good cause.

"I lost my mom, my aunt. There is not enough you can do," says Robert Malone.

"I learned about the whole thing through Jack. He is a patient of mine and inspired me to do this," says Chris Cyrul.

The money raised will go towards cancer research.
