Murder for hire suspect accepts plea deal
A Soddy Daisy woman originally accused of murder for hire has accepted a plea agreement.
Thursday, Sharon Zurconett accepted the deal in exchange for a reduced charge of attempt to solicit the commission of first degree murder.
Zurconett was charged with murder for hire in April of 2012, after police said she tried to hire someone to kill a woman who was dating a former friend.
The man she allegedly hired called police who investigated Zurconett for a month.
Hamilton County Judge Rebecca Stern ordered her to serve 60 days in jail, which will be followed by a suspended five-year sentence.
Zurconett must turn herself in by July 5.
