UPDATE: Suspect arrested in Dorris St. shooting

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga police are investigating an early morning shooting.

Dispatchers confirm the call came in around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning. It happened in the 3700 block of Dorris Street.

Police say the victim, 31-year-old Quintin Jones, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The suspect, 40-year-old Darrel Jones, was still on the scene and taken into custody.

Police say the two were in a fight at the residence when the shooting took place.

Quintin Jones was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Darrel Jones was charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He remains in the Hamilton County Jail.
