On Saturday, June 15, O.A.R. will headline at the Riverbend Festival.

They will perform at 9:30 p.m. on the Coke Stage.

O.A.R., standing for "Of a Revolution," is an American rock band founded in Rockville, Maryland in 1996. Its members consist of lead vocalist Marc Roberge, guitarist Richard On, drummer Chris Culos, bassist Benj Gershman, and saxophonist Jerry DePizzo. All members of the band attended Ohio State University together.

Not like other bands, O.A.R. started to gain their fame by word-of-mouth alone. They started performing at school parties and grew rapidly from there. The band has received offers from various record labels, but they ultimately decided on Lava Records.

Together, the band has released seven studio albums. They released their debut album, "The Wanderer," in 1997. The songs "Black Rock" and "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" from that album became staples at their live shows and are still played at most of their shows today.

The band's fifth album, "Stories of a Stranger," debuted at number 40 on the Billboard 200 with the songs "Love and Memories," "Heard the World," and "Lay Down." The next year, they hit a new peak of popularity when they sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden.

Their most recent studio album, "King," was released in August 2011. It debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200. To date, O.A.R. has sold close to 2 million albums.
