CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Erlanger and Sodexo Food and Nutrition Services recently collected and donated more than 500 pounds of food to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

The donation was part of the 2013 Servathon Food Drive.

Officials collected $2,381,10 and 510 pounds of food over a two week period.

"The Chattanooga Food Bank was very pleased and appreciative of the results.  The donations will go a long way to providing food to over 20,000 local residents of Chattanooga who utilize the food bank each and every week," says Jonathan Darling General Manager of the Erlanger/Sodexo Food Services Department.

Over the last six years, the Servathon Food Drive has resulted in the equivalent of 100,000 pounds in donations to the local food bank.

Officials say the donation of $1 is equivalent to five pounds of food.
