Good Monday. Our Memorial Day will be about as nice as you would want. High pressure will keep be the dominant factor which means stable, subsiding air that will make it difficult for showers and storms to develop.
With that said, temperatures today (and all this week) will be in the mid to upper 80s, about 5 degrees above normal. With that kind of heat, and with the increase in humidity, we can not rule out one or two isolated showers or storms each afternoon this week.
The next best chance of rain will be this weekend.
Saturday, we may see a few showers as a front begins to develop over the Tennessee Valley, and that will result in mostly cloudy skies, but the rain chance will only be about 30% with highs in the mid 80s Saturday afternoon.
Sunday, the front will have completely developed, and will bring widespread showers and storms to the area. This will likely last into next Monday as well.
Keep in mind, this weekend is still a LONG way off, meteorologically speaking, and the timing of this front is likely to change. Bottom line... stay tuned!
