CHATTANOOGA (Lookouts) -- Chris Reed's best outing of the 2013 season did not improve his record, but it set the pace for Chattanooga's thrilling 1-0 victory over the Pensacola Friday night at AT&T Field.
Reed combined with three relievers on a three-hit shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out two across five strong innings.
Rob Rasmussen (3-2) picked up the win with two innings of one-hit relief, while Yimi Garcia and Jose Dominguez capped the win with back-to-back perfect frames. Dominguez earned his first save of the season.
Joc Pederson's sixth-inning single scored Rafael Ynoa with the game's only run. Ynoa reached on a one-out single and advanced to third on a well-executed hit-and-run with Miguel Rojas.
The Lookouts had eight hits in the game, with Ynoa picking up three in the leadoff spot, but were only 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
Pederson was 1-for-4 and finished the night at .320 for the season.
The series continues tonight at 7:15 with Breakin' B-Boy McCoy suiting up to entertain the fans between innings. Andres Santiago (2-5) is the scheduled starter.
