UPDATE: Superintendent addresses student tasing

Posted: Updated:
LAFAYETTE, GA (WRCB) -

A video is circulating around the web of a law enforcement official apparently using a stun gun on two students.

The incident occurred at LaFayette High School during lunchtime in the courtyard, according to school officials.

In the video, you can hear the official yell "Break it up" and then the unmistakable sound of a stun gun being used.

You can then hear a scream as the girls fall apart.

Walker County Schools superintendent Damon Raines says the student resource officer gave multiple verbal commands before he used the taser to break up the fight.

"We are confident the SRO relied on his training and made the best possible decision considering the safety of both students. The parents of the students were contacted immediately after the incident," says Raines.
