Memorial Day weekend weather nearly perfect!

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - High pressure over the Tennessee Valley makes for a delightful Memorial Day weekend!

Conditions will be dry for several days. This is great news considering it's rained and/or stormed the last four weekends, so finally we get a break just in time for the holiday.

Friday will be sunny and breezy with highs in the middle 70s in the city, upper 60s in the highest terrain. Winds in the high elevations may reach to around 25-30 mph.

The only "fly in the ointment" is tonight. Clear skies and light winds will lead to unusually cool lows in the 40s region-wide (normal is 59 for Chattanooga, record is 46), but sunshine will boost highs into the middle and upper 70s Saturday afternoon. Sunday will be a little warmer and seasonable with a few more clouds and highs in the lower 80s in Chattanooga.

Stupendous weather continues Memorial Day through Thursday with very little to no chance for rain. Abundant sunshine remains the main focus! However, as high pressure moves east a southerly wind will increase humidity a bit, making it feel like summer. Highs warm into the middle and upper 80s. Enjoy your walks, boat rides, bike rides, and cookouts!
