Travis and Hiett Win Seahawks Open High School Bass Tournament

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Thirty-six young anglers representing four different high schools gathered on Nickajack Lake to battle it out for first place in the Seahawks Open Bass Tournament Saturday May 18, 2013. The tournament was hosted by Silverdale Baptist Academy.

High schools represented in this tournament were Grundy County, Rhea County, Silverdale Baptist Academy, and Chattanooga Christian. Twelve of the sixteen teams that participated weighed in bass.

The team of Dakota Travis and Zachary Hiett representing Grundy County High School took first place in the tournament with a five-fish limit weighing 14.94 pounds. 

The duo of Josh Brady and Christian Rogers from Silverdale Baptist Academy finished in second place with five fish that weighed 12.01 pounds.

The Rhea County Team of Nathan Shaver and Jessie Hooker took over-all big-fish honors with a giant largemouth bass weighing 5.15 pounds

1st -  Grundy County - Dakota Travis and Zachary Hiett - 14.94 lbs.
2nd – SBA - Josh Brady and Christian Rogers - 12.01 lbs.
3rd - Rhea County - Nathan Shaver and Jessie Hooker - 11.50 lbs.
4th -  Grundy County - Tristan Owenby and Austin Jackson - 11.16 lbs.
5th -  Grundy County - Hank Lowrie and Dakota Cantrell - 8.23 lbs.
6th - SBA - Kendall Shoemaker and Jacob Westerfield - 7.47 lbs.
7th -  Rhea County - Dylan Brock and Cody Gunter - 6.69 lbs.
8th - Rhea County - Mikey Jenkins and Dylan Pritchet - 5.15 lbs.
9th -  Rhea County - Garrett Hall and Tyler Price - 5.12 lbs.
10th - Rhea County - Mackey McCrary and Bradley Evans - 4.42 lbs.
11th -  Rhea County - Matt Colbaugh and Justin Wright - 3.19 lbs.
12th - Rhea County - Shane Broadwell and Bryce Travis - 2.47 lbs.
13th – SBA - Hunter Arnold and Cody Thomas - 0
