Much warmer air settling in

(WRCB) - Good Tuesday.  We will see warm weather taking a firm hold of the Tennessee Valley for the foreseeable future.

While we had a nice, cool start to the day today, we will see our afternoon highs shoot up to the low 80s, about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday afternoon.  It will be hard to complain, though as we will be spoiled by sunny skies all day.

We will be even warmer than that Wednesday as the sunshine continues along with light southwest winds.  Highs will climb into the mid to upper 80s!  That's 5-10 degrees above normal.

Thursday through the weekend, we will see a bit of a shift in our forecast.  Not only will we have the warm air in place during the afternoon, but we will start to see some moist, unstable air moving in, meaning it will easily lift into the atmosphere during the heat of the day, producing isolated afternoon showers and storms.  This will be the pattern each afternoon starting Thursday and lasting through Monday.

Monday night into Tuesday, a cold front will push through, and give us our best chance for widespread showers and storms.
