Cambridge Square in Ooltewah to have open house this weekend

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) -- This weekend, Ooltewah residents can enjoy a public open house at Cambridge Square, complete with live music, local food and children's events.

The mixed-use development, by Barrier Properties, will also feature two eateries familiar to those who spend time in Chattanooga; Lupi's Pizza Pies and Southern Burger Company.

The open house marks the first phase of Cambridge Square, on 130 acres located near the intersection of Ooltewah/Georgetown Road and Lee Highway, near the entrance to the famed Honors Golf Course.

The open house weekend, free and open to the public, will begin Friday at 5:30 p.m. with live bluegrass music from Chattanooga's Slim Pickins.

Saturday's events include kids' activities and tours of the property. Visitors can expect more live music with special guest the River City Red Hots, as well as activities that include canvas painting, face painting, and balloon art.

"We have reached a visual crossroads, where people no longer have to imagine the concept for the community," said Michael McGowan, a partner with River Street Architecture. "As buildings go vertical and landscape architecture takes shape, we think people will really begin to appreciate the level of detail and planning that went into this development."

Other tenants are Independent Healthcare Properties, and Tedford Family Dentistry is scheduled to start construction later this year.
