AUBURN, Ala. (UTC) -- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team fired the second-best round of the morning wave to move into a tie for 17th at the NCAA East Regional at Auburn University Club.
Friday's 298 (+10) was 10 better than playing partner Ole Miss as the two are tied at 607, two shots behind FIU in 16th.
It was a very balanced effort for the Mocs. Jordan Britt and Agathe Sauzon each shot two-over par 74 to pace their squad's effort. Isabella Loza and Emily McLennan were one behind with 75's.
Britt, McLennan and Sauzon are all tied at 151 for UTC. Loza is just three behind that trio at 154. Porsche Campbell has a two-day total of 167.
The Mocs are just ahead of three top 50-ranked squads. No. 38 Texas State is one off Chattanooga's pace at 608, while No. 47 Penn State is 20th at 611. No. 44 UCF is another five strokes back at 616.
Defending National Champion Alabama is running away with the tourney at 22-under par 554. The second-ranked Crimson Tide is up 11 shots on No. 20 Tulane in second at 568 (-8). No. 5 Arkansas and No. 17 Oklahoma State are tied for third at plus one (577).
Alabama's Stephanie Meadow shot six-under par 66 to take a four-stroke individual lead at 10-under 134. Her teammates Jennifer Kirby and Emma Talley are tied for second at minus six, 138.
