One Mexican eatery gets a failing grade; pizza and subs tie at the top
(WRCB) -- Dining out this weekend?
The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a fairly good week among the 30 restaurants visited.
We do have one failing grade to pass along to you and if you enjoy Mexican food the news isn't good at Amigos on Highway 153.
Remember a failing grade is anything lower than a 70, and according to Lead Inspector Jack Falcon they received a 69. Remember, they have ten days to correct all critical violations which include:
Raw chicken and shrimp were out of temperature. Everything was thrown away. Violations include no hot water or soap at the kitchen hand sink, floors in need of repair and the ceiling needs a good cleaning. Also, cooks were not washing their hands. Once again they score a 69.
But on the other end of the food scale what about a tie for the highest score at 96?
Congratulations to Subway across the street from Northgate Mall and Jet's Pizza on Hixson Pike.
