CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Nine Chattanooga Police officers will be riding in the Law Enforcement Unity Ride.

The officers will leave Wednesday at 7 a.m. The ride will last three days and cover 250 miles, ending in Washington D.C. for National Police Week.

The officers raised money which will be donated to Concerns of Police Survivors, COPS, and the Officer Down Memorial Page.

One of the officers is riding for fallen Cleveland Police Officer Justin Maples.

Maples was killed in a single car crash in May of 2012. He was on patrol duty when his cruiser slammed into a telephone pole in front of the Holiday Motel off South Lee Highway. The force of the crash was so great it flung the car battery to the other side of the road.
