More rain late this week

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Good Monday. With the rain moving out, we will start our Monday with mild, foggy weather. Some wet, slick roadways are still likely through the morning.

We had 2"-3" of rain over the weekend. We will finish the month of April with 27.48" of rain in the gauge for the year. That's about 9" above normal.

There are still some flood warnings in effect along the Sequatchie Valley as well as along Lookout Creek in Hamilton and Catoosa Counties. It is expected to crest at about 19' this afternoon, which means some minor flooding along Mack Smith Road.

Through the day, we will continue to see mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 70s.

Get the yard work done on Tuesday or Wednesday. Both days will see little to no chance of rain, and highs will be in the low 80s!

Thursday will be warm and dry starting off, but a front to our west will become stationary and shoot a few scattered showers into the area Thursday night through Friday.

The front will drift eastward a bit Saturday and Sunday, drawing up moisture from the south and increasing our rain chance over the weekend to about 70% for both Saturday and Sunday.
