Ramhurst under "Do Not Drink" advisory for water

Posted: Updated:

RAMHURST, GA (WRCB) -- Residents of Ramhurst in Murray County are under a "Do Not Drink" advisory after a break in at the Carters Lake Water Treatment Plant Friday.

Officials with Chatsworth Water Works say settings were tampered with and the plant is currently shut down.

Officials say they expect the advisory to last two to three days, until they are given the all clear from EPB. Samples were sent for testing.

Residents should drink only bottled water until the advisory is lifted.

Officials say they have not made any arrests in the break in.
