CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga couldn't hold on for a win Friday night at A&T Field.
But Jackson couldn't rally for one, either.
The two teams were tied at 4-all heading to the bottom of the eighth inning when rains suspended play. The game will resume at 6:15 p.m. ET Saturday night before game three of their five-game series.
C.J. Retherford was 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs as the Lookouts built a 3-0 lead through three innings. He hit a solo home run in the second and delivered an RBI-single in the third.
The two teams traded runs in the fourth and the lead stayed at 4-1 until Leon Landry's three-run homer off Chris Reed tied the game in the seventh.
Reed had worked his way out of trouble all night, scattering six hits and walking two before Landry's mammoth blast over the pavilion in right field. He left after seven innings having allowed four runs (three earned) and striking out two.
Joc Pederson drove in Chattanooga's other two runs on groundouts in the second and fourth. Griff Erickson joined Retherford with two hits.
