CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Good Friday! Enjoy one more dry day before the weekend rains.

After a cool start, we will see warm, pleasant weather this afternoon with highs in the low to mid 70s.  I also expect clouds to increase through the late afternoon and evening ahead of an upper level area of low pressure that will ultimately bring in the rain this weekend.

We may even see a few showers popping up this evening, and overnight we can expect scattered showers as well.

For Saturday, I would expect on/off showers at just about any time through the day.  Models are suggesting the best coverage of rain Saturday will be Chattanooga northward.  With that said, I think we will all see at least some rain Saturday.  I would expect about .50"-1" of rain through the day.

For Sunday, the upper level low will continue to slowly move through, and I think we will see more rain Sunday than on Saturday.  Widespread rainfall amounts of 1"-2" are possible just Sunday, meaning 2"-3" of rain through the weekend are certainly possible.

For next week, the upper low moves on out Monday, but we could still see one or two showers lingering into Monday and Tuesday.  Highs will warm into the mid to upper 70s starting off next week as well.
