Get rid of your unwanted and unused prescription drugs Saturday

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The Drug Enforcement Administration will have collection points around the country as the agency and other groups participate in the event.

Sponsored by the DEA, the event will be Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to allow people to dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications.

During five previous events, an estimated 2 million pounds of prescription medications were taken out of circulation across the U.S.

The event will be held across the country, and include Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

Many police and law enforcement agencies will be participating in the event.
