CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Chattanooga police worked a fatal wreck on I-24 near the Rossville Boulevard exit Wednesday that closed the interstate for several hours.

The crash involved a white van and an 18-wheeler.

Channel 3 Eyewitness News has confirmed the driver of the van did not survive the accident; the driver has been identified by Chattanooga Police as Roger Eugene Sutton, 50, of Trenton, GA.

He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police say the wreck shut down the eastbound lanes. The road was closed for almost two hours as investigators gathered information and evidence from the crash site.
