CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC (WRCB) -- Cherokee County deputies seized a large amount of synthetic marijuana, or Spice, from a store in Murphy.

Officials say they raided the Topton Store April 22 and seized large amounts of spice and cash.

Investigators received a tip that a package of the drug was destined for the store. They obtained a search warrant for the store.

Investigators determined that the owner, Clara "Jessica" Frost and her employees, had engaged in the sale of synthetic marijuana from her "drive through" window. Approximately 900 grams of synthetic marijuana along with about $2900.00 in U. S. Currency was seized.

"We will not stop our efforts to get this stuff off the street. The continued information provided by the public has been an essential tool in combating a dangerous substance that may be thought of as harmless but in reality can cause death," says Sheriff Keith Lovin.

Cherokee County deputies have performed multiple searches and seizures at the Topton Store in the past year and a half.

Frost is scheduled for a June 2013 Superior Court date on charges stemming from a previous search.
