Picture perfect today, pollen a problem

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - Good Tuesday.  What a picture perfect day!  Highs this afternoon will reach the mid 70s under partly cloudy skies.  You may want to hold your breath and close your eyes, though.  Pollen counts are in the 1200s today which is considered extremely heavy.

Light southerly winds ahead of a front will continue pumping in warm, moist air tonight.  Lows tonight will stay in the mid 50s!

Wednesday the front will move through, bringing scattered showers and a few non severe thunderstorms starting in the morning, and lasting on and off through the afternoon.  About 1/2" of rain is expected with this front with a few isolated spots getting as much as an inch.

Behind the front, we will cool down and dry out a bit Thursday with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s and highs in the upper 60s.

Friday will also be dry and start out with cool lows near 40.  Warmer weather comes right back in, however, with highs in the upper 70s!

Unfortunately, we are looking at low pressure moving through Saturday, bringing showers to the Tennessee Valley on and off all day.

The models are a little divided on Sunday and the first part of next week.  The best bet right now is that some of that rain will stick around through Sunday and last through Tuesday when another front will sweep it all out and bring the sunshine back by the middle of next week.
