CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The UTC Mocs finished 6th in the Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Open on Kentucky Lake in Paris, TN. The format of this tournament was unlike most other collegiate fishing events. This tournament consisted of a team format, where two boats made up a single team. This allowed three fish per boat for a combined total of six fish making up the overall weight.

UTC has great history at this event. Beginning back in 2009, they had a 5th place finish, followed up by 4th place in 2010, and last year they finished in 5th place once again. This year was no different; the UTC Mocs Anglers competed hard and finished just shy of the top five tradition, landing in 6th place.

"Jigs and spinnerbaits by Choo Choo Lures were our key baits for this finish," says Cody  Frazier.

The team consisted of anglers Taylor Bolton & Parker Bacon and Cody Frazier & Trent Huie.

Bolton said "We all had a great time while catching lots of fish, and look forward to more consistent finishes as the season continues."

The Mocs came away from the tournament with $650 in prizes and awards.

"Events like these would not be possible without our team's sponsors," UTC Mocs Bass Club President James Childers says, "We would like to thank MoonPie, Tow Boat US Southern Towing & Salvage, TN Valley Ice, Coca-Cola, Joe Burns Custom Rods, Choo Choo Lures, Nichols Marine, Tony Sanders Outdoors, Channel 3 Outdoors, Yank-Um  Tackle, Tacklewarehouse, BassWhacker Guntersville, Fishstrong and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for all their help and support"
