Warm and breezy today, but storms tomorrow

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- We had some big storms producing some hail and heavy rain last night.

We knocked some pollen out of the air, but counts still be high today.  This mornings number is 445, still way above the "Extremely Heavy" threshold of 120, but at least better than the 3000s which is where we were yesterday.

I would not expect a repeat of the rain today.

Your Thursday will bring warm and muggy weather with highs in the low 80s today.  Winds will blow from the southeast at 10-20 mph this afternoon.  A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for many counties for tonight through tomorrow morning.  Here is the link with the county by county details.  www.wrcbtv.com.

Tonight, clouds will build, and we may see a stray shower or two.

A line of storms will move through early Friday morning between 5am and 9am.  The main threats of which will be gusty, damaging winds and small hail.

During the late morning and afternoon of Friday, we will see cooler air moving in with highs in the mid 60s Friday.

We will stay cool and dry this weekend.  Here is a breakdown:

Saturday: Mostly Sunny, Low 39, High 67

Sunday: Partly Cloudy, Low 42, High 73

(WRCB) - Good Saturday. While we have seen a few light sprinkles this morning, the bulk of the rain stayed east and south of the area, and I think that will continue to be the case. For the rest of the day we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a high today of 74. We will see our winds increasing behind the front to 10-20 mph from the northeast.Tonight, the winds die down, and we will see some clearing heading through the overnight.More

Parts of the area remain under Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings. I don't think we are looking at any widespread problems this morning, but patchy areas of frost are certainly possible, especially in the Blue Ridge.More
