RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - New North Carolina State women's basketball coach Wes Moore has hired Nikki West as his associate head coach.

West spent the past nine years on Moore's staff at Chattanooga, six as an assistant coach and three as associate head coach. She worked primarily with post players and will do the same with the Wolfpack.

West, the former Nikki Blassingame, was an all-Atlantic Coast Conference player at Clemson from 1996-99. She was part of two ACC tournament championship teams with the Tigers.

West is married to Chattanooga football assistant coach Marcus West.

N.C. State hired Moore earlier this month to replace Kellie Harper, who was fired after four seasons.
