Coca-Cola United to expand territory across Southwest

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The Chattanooga bottling plant Coca-Cola united announced Tuesday plans to expand its territory in the southeast by 45 percent.

The Coca-Cola Company along with five U.S. bottlers including the Chattanooga bottling plant plan to expand across Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

Coca-Cola United will assume control of territories in Alabama and portions of northwest Florida, north and west Georgia and southeastern Tennessee.

"Chattanooga Coca-Cola, the 1st Coca-Cola Bottler in the World, will be part of the United Team that continues to build our business based on a high level of service," said Darren Hodges, Vice President of Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company.  "We are very fortunate to be part of a company that has a local operating model.  This means that we are responsible for serving our local consumers and customers, and as importantly, supporting our communities."

Coca-Cola United is the second largest bottler in the U.S. and the largest privately held bottler.
