Girl brings Paris to sister battling leukemia

Posted: Updated:

MARYVILLE, TN (WBIR) --  A Maryville, Tennessee teen surprised her older sister, who's battling leukemia, by making one of her dreams come true.

Claire Hayes, 18, has wanted to visit Paris, France since she was 15 years old, but around that time she was diagnosed with bone cancer.

"She went through a year treatment of chemo and she had to have her femur removed and replaced," says her mother, Jeaneene.

Claire won that battle with cancer and once again planned to visit the 'City of Love' with her younger sister, Emma.

"This summer she and I were supposed to have gone to Paris together as sisters for her senior trip. It was the most exciting thing we were both looking forward to doing together and since she can't go, she's not physically up to it and she can't medically go, I decided to bring Paris to her," says Emma Hayes.
