Former Murray Co. deputy changes guilty plea

Posted: Updated:

MURRAY COUNTY, GA. (WRCB) -- A former Murray County Sheriff's deputy has pleaded guilty to intimidation or force against a witness.

The charge centers around the arrest of Angela Garmley in 2012.

Joshua Greeson was accused of making false statements the GBI and destroying evidence by deleting pictures in his cell phone.

Greeson originally pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

During a federal hearing Friday, he changed his plea.

In exchange for his plea, a charge of destruction, alteration or falsification of records in a federal investigation was dropped.
