CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Automatic spending cuts have forced the U.S. Navy to cancel all remaining performances for the Blue Angels, a flight exhibition team that's a favorite at airshows around the world.

The cancellations were somewhat expected, especially since several shows in April, including the performance at Georgia's Vidalia Onion Festival, were canceled.

The squadron, started in 1946, performed  for over 260 million spectators.

The typical Blue Angels' performance season runs from March until November at various venues around the county.
