Warm with LOTS of pollen today

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Enjoy the warmth today, but you may want to hold your breath and cover your eyes.

While we are expecting temps in the low 80s this afternoon, the warm air is really firing up the pollen.

Any pollen count above 120 is considered extremely heavy.  Today, pollen counts are at 3118.

Wednesday will be similar if not a degree or two warmer as southerly winds keep pumping in warm, moist air from the gulf ahead of a cold front.

The front will bring showers and storms to the area mainly Thursday afternoon and evening, then cooler, drier air will settle in for the weekend.

Highs Friday will be in the mid 60s.  Saturday and Sunday will be in the low to mid 70s with lots of sunshine both days.

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.
