JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested five people Wednesday on drug-related charges, including two former local football standouts.

Former Marion County and University of Tennessee star Eric Westmoreland and former South Pittsburg star Robert Robinson are both facing one charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Westmoreland is currently an assistant football coach at Baylor School.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Travis Renfro stopped a vehicle on Alabama Hwy 72 in Hollywood, AL for a traffic violation and called for a Narcotics Investigator and drug dog.

The drug dog alerted deputies that there were drugs in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in controlled and prescription medications: oxycodone, phendimetrazine and acyclovir.

Westmoreland led Marion County to three state championships in the 90's before becoming a starting linebacker for the Vols' 1998 national championship team. He later spent four seasons in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns.

Robinson was an all-state running back at South Pittsburg and was named MVP of the state championship game when the Pirates beat McKenzie for the state title in 2007. He later signed scholarship papers with Tennessee State.

Samantha Anderson (age 37 of Stevenson, AL), Tabitha Philips (age 24 of Stevenson, AL) and Dan Smith (age 50 of Stevenson, AL) were also arrested.

Westmoreland, Robinson and Smith are each facing one charge of unlawful possession of controlled substances, while Anderson is facing two. All four were released on $3,500 bond.

Philips is facing one count of unlawful possession of controlled substances and one count of illegal possession of prescription medications. She was released on $4,000 bond.
