CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Chancery Court Judge W. Frank Brown III will not grant a temporary injunction to stop the Hamilton County Election Commission from declaring Yusuf Hakeem as the Chattanooga City Council District 9 seat winner, despite the efforts of competing candidate Peter Murphy.

The ruling, made Wednesday, sets a tight timeframe for the next hearing date of April 9, which is the same day as the run-off election in Hamilton County.

Murphy is contending that the winning margin of 50% plus one vote was not met in his race with Yusuf Hakeem for the District 9 race.
