Mallory and Meeks Win TCBFT on Nickajack

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Twenty-three  teams representing seven different colleges gathered on Nickajack Lake Sunday, March 24th  to battle it out for first place in the Tennessee Collegiate Bass Fishing Trail's fourth qualifying tournament of the season.

The Team of Ricky Mallory and Austin Meeks representing Middle Tennessee State University caught a five bass limit weighing 28.13 pounds to take the win and $600 first place prize.

The duo also had big fish of the tournament with a giant largemouth weighing 7.81 pounds which earned them a Custom Joe Burns Rod.

Finishing in second place and winning $300 was the team of Taylor Bolton and Parker Bacon from University of Tennessee, Chattanooga with five fish weighing 23.88 pounds.

Rounding out the top ten teams:

1st - Middle Tennessee State University - Ricky Mallory and Austin Meeks - 28.13 lbs.       
2nd - University of Tennessee, Chattanooga - Taylor Bolton and Parker Bacon - 23.88 lbs.
3rd - Middle Tennessee State University - Nolen Spencer and Johnathan Reece – 21 lbs.
4th - Tennesse Tech University - Matt Townsen and Will Stansell - 20.21 lbs.       
5th - Tennesse Tech University - Chris Thomas and Ryan Harpe - 19.42 lbs.        
6th - Tennessee Wesleyan College - Sahadut Mughal and John Higdon - 19.09 lbs.
7th - University of Tennessee, Chattanooga - Lance Garen and Colby Ownby - 18.86 lbs.
8th - Tennesse Tech University - Bryson Dalton and Joe Ellis - 16.66 lbs.              
9th - University of Tennessee, Chattanooga - Trent Huie and Ryan Houston - 13.38 lbs.    
10th - University of Tennessee - Parker Hurst and Jackson Minnich - 11.14 lbs. 

The 2012-2013 Tennessee Collegiate Bass Fishing Trail (TCBFT) is hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Bass Anglers Sports Club. The TCBFT is an invitational tournament format, but there is a point system in place which will factor into who wins Angler of the Year as well as who qualifies for the yearend TCBFT Tournament of Champions.
