TDOT to pause Interstate construction for Easter

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE (WRCB) --  The Tennessee Department of Transportation will again suspend all interstate construction work for the holiday weekend; in this weekend's case, Easter.

An anticipated increase in holiday travel will have TDOT crews and contractors pausing all road construction work requiring lane closures.

The affected time period is from Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. through Monday, April 1 at 6:00 a.m.

The suspension will provide maximum roadway capacity to motorists, and provide some time savings to motorists traveling within the state.

Some long-term lane closures on construction projects will remain in place. Motorists are urged to be aware that some workers may be in construction zones and reduced speed limits will still be in effect.
