TN Governor honors Vietnam veterans

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - Vietnam veterans are coming up on a major milestone and Governor Bill Haslam spent some time Monday recognizing them.

Haslam joined the Commissioner for the Department of Veteran Affairs to sign a proclamation recognizing and remembering veterans who served during the Vietnam War.

March 30th marks the 40th anniversary of troops being pulled out of Vietnam.

The proclamation states March 29th will be a Day of Remembrance and Recognition to those veterans.

Tennessee became the first state to proclaim a Vietnam Veterans Day in 2008.
