Morning flurries, ending this afternoon

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- With the light snow falling this morning, it will make travel difficult in some of the higher elevations where morning temps will be in the mid 20s, and patchy ice will be a likelihood.

In the valley, temps are in the low 30s, and widespread ice won't be an issue, but things like elevated porches, bridges, and overpasses could see some ice developing.

This afternoon, the light snow tapers off, and we will see cloudy, cool, and breezy weather with highs in the mid 40s and NW winds at 10-15 mph.

Wednesday through the rest of the week, we will see a bit of a warming trend with mostly sunny skies and highs gradually climbing to near 60 by the end of the week.  Keep in mind, it's all relative.  The average high for this time of year is 65.

Saturday looks good with a high of 60, but clouds will build through the day.  We could see a few light rain showers late Saturday night.

Okay, I have saved the worst for last.  Easter.  Rain will develop overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, and we can expect rain showers through the day Sunday.
