TN Aquarium sees 20 millionth visitor

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The Aquarium hit a major mile stone Sunday afternoon -- the 20 millionth visitor took a trip through the turn styles

The Brooks family drove through the night all the way from Indianapolis -- heading down to Florida for a family vacation.

After reading the reviews they decided to check out the aquarium and were quite surprised to find out they were the 20 millionth patrons.

The aquarium says hitting this number means everything to them.

"That's 20 million people that have been able to look below the surface and see what lives under our lakes and streams, and hopefully, they have a better appreciation for that life," says Director of Marketing Cindy Todd.

Channel 3 was there back on May 1st 1992 when the brand new Tennessee land mark was opening its doors.

Over 20 years later, 20 million people have grazed through looking for those river giants.
